Important Information:

  • Syracuse University will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th for the Thanksgiving Holiday
  • The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship Programs is open for students both virtually and at our physical location at 200 Bowne Hall. Our hours are every Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Undergraduate Students: Financial Aid Counselors are available to meet in-person or virtually via Zoom. Please schedule your appointment using Orange SUccess or via email, or connect with staff via our virtual waiting room during open business hours. Persons who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about accessing physical or virtual spaces please call 315.443.1513 or email us.
  • Graduate/Law Students: Financial Aid Counselors are available by appointment, either virtually or via phone. Please schedule your appointment online or you can email the Graduate or Law team. 
  • The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship Programs uses the MySlice student portal for award information and missing information requests. Information on accessing MySlice and the login process can be found on IT Services’ webpage.

FAFSA Information:

In 2020, the FAFSA Simplification Act was enacted into law as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. The FAFSA Simplification Act represents a significant overhaul of federal student aid, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

  • The 2024-2025 FAFSA has fully opened, and students are encouraged to complete it as soon as possible. 
  • The FAFSA has fully opened for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students should review the dates and deadlines for more information on submitting financial aid applications in a timely manner.

        Federal Loan Repayment Information:

        The U.S. Department of Education’s COVID-19 relief for federal student loans is ending this year. Student loan interest will resume starting on Sept. 1, 2023, and payments will be due starting in October. Syracuse University students enrolled at least half-time are eligible for in-school deferment, which is reported to the Department of Education.
